Health Warriors

The people who started it.

Founder and the early volunteer network.

Zoraiz Riaz · Founder

Zoraiz Riaz founded Corona Recovered Warriors in May 2020, which evolved into Health Warriors. A LUMS graduate and public-health professional, he built a citizen-led network connecting people seeking assistance with volunteers, medical professionals and community resources. His wider professional experience includes national preventive-health programme leadership, advocacy and government partnerships.

Founder recognition and public speaking

Founder recognition · independently documented and founder-reported

Zoraiz Riaz is a three-time invited TEDx speaker, including a TED-hosted talk on using social media to tackle the COVID-19 crisis. His professional portfolio records Pride of Pakistan recognition, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Ambassador of the Year 2023, Chief Minister Punjab High Achiever recognition, recognition by the Governor of Punjab and participation as a UNDP panelist. These are individual distinctions, not awards conferred on Health Warriors as an organization.

Public-health leadership beyond Health Warriors

Separate professional experience

Alongside founding Health Warriors, Zoraiz Riaz has worked on large-scale preventive-health programmes and government partnerships, including the Pakistan Deworming Initiative and participation in a WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office forum. This work is part of his separate professional career and is not presented as an HWF programme.

The early team

LUMS documented the involvement of Mehrunisa Riaz and Salman Riaz alongside the wider volunteer network.
